The workshop will take place at the University Computer Center of ECNU (East China Normal University, 华东师范大学). Click here for a campus map. The workshop will take place in Room 200 of the Computer Science Building as indicated on this map.

Transportation

From Pudong International Airport (浦东国际机场) to ECNU (华东师范大学)

  1. By metro: Walk to Pudong international airport station (浦东国际机场站), get on metro line 2, get off at Zhongshan Park station (中山公园站) （22 stopss), transfer to Line 3 or Line 4 at the same station, get off at Jin Sha Jiang Road Station (金沙江路站)（1 stops). From there it is about a ten minute walk to arrive at the gate of ECNU. Total travel time will be about 2 hours. Metro tickets will cost RMB 8.
     
  2. By Taxi: Drive to No. 3663 Zhongshan Road, Shanghai (中山北路 3663 号) to arrive at the gate of ECNU. Total travel time will be about 1.5 hours, cost about RMB 200.

From Hongqiao Airport (虹桥机场) to to ECNU (华东师范大学):

  1. By metro: Get on Metro Line 10 at the Hongqiao airport terminal 2 station (虹桥 2 号航站楼站), get off at Hongqiao station (虹桥路站) (7 stops), transfer to Line 4 at the same station, get off at the Jin Sha Jiang Road Station (金沙江路站) (3 stops). From there it is about a ten minute walk to arrive at the gate of ECNU. Total travel time will be about 1 hours. Metro tickets will cost about RMB 6.
     
  2. By Taxi: Drive to No. 3663 Zhongshan Road, Shanghai (中山北路 3663 号) to arrive at the gate of ECNU. Total travel time will be about 40 minutes, cost about RMB 50.

From Shanghai Railway Station (上海火车站) to ECNU (华东师范大学):

  1. By metro: Get on Metro Line 3 or Line 4 at Shanghai Railway Station (上海火车站站), get off at the Jin Sha Jiang Road Station (金沙江路站)（4 stops). From there it is about a ten minute walk to arrive at the gate of ECNU. Total travel time will be about 20 mintues. Metro tickets will cost RMB 3.
     
  2. By Taxi: Drive to No. 3663 Zhongshan Road, Shanghai (中山北路 3663 号) to arrive at the gate of ECNU. Total travel time will be about 30 minutes, cost about RMB 30.
     
  3. By bus: Take bus number 837.

Catering

The hotel on campus, the International Exchange Service Center, provides meals at a reasonable price. Depending on the order, the price runs typically below RMB 100 for lunch and dinner per person per meal. Alternatively, the university cafeterias offer meals at a much lower price, about RMB 20 per person per meal.

Climate

In August, the weather in Shanghai is generally quite warm. The average temperature in recent years was around 25-31 C (77-88 F). The lecture rooms, however, will be air conditioned.
